Crim3s // Interview

Less of a fashion post and more of a culture one, I really wanted to upload some of my favourites from our uni magazine! One of if not my favourite part of the whole magazine is the interview I did with Crim3s.

I just love how it all came together and especially to have Crim3s who's music I love. I just thought it would be cool to interview them especially for people who've never heard of them.

If you've not checked out Sadie and Issac's music before you should now it's worth it and their new EP is amazing,  //Crim3s - Bandcamp// so check out their bandcamp and have a listen!

This is just one of my favourite sections but anyway the rest of the magazine is //here// so check that out for more too!

Ravensbourne // Blog Mention

Really little but exciting thing Ravensbourne's post about Susie Bubble praising Ravensbourne students was posted recently and it mentioned a few blogs to look out for including mine!

Check out the post //here// !!

Even if a tiny mention it's nice to see someone mentioning my blog and calling it entertaining!

From hanging around GFW and seeing her posts it's so cool to see how much Susie Bubble enjoyed Ravensbourne's work and collections. I really do love how much positive press our graduates have recieved though it's great for all of them and our university too!

Uni//White Photoshoot

Because of everything going on I've not had time to try and upload any of my uni work, I just wanted to post these few images finally. We used most of the images in our magazines but I'm so happy with how they came out, they really capture everything I wanted to get. I think they're definitely some of my favourite images I've ever taken and really are of the whole magazine.

Uni Work//MONO

Admist all of this blogging about GFW we've finally managed to hand in this terms project which was to create a magazine in teams of six!

You can find ours //here//

Here's the cover!
I'm totally proud of it though theres so much content in there that we've all worked so hard on, beautiful photoshoots and I think it's come together really nicely as an end of year product. I think everyone on our course has done so well to actually make magazines and it's really taught me a lot about the industry and what I want to do so check it out!

GFW // Pop Up

Things have been so manic recently with all of my uni work but today we sent our magazine off to print, so thats something to look forward to seeing!

Anyway amongst all of this I wanted to talk about, with only nine days now until the start of Graduate Fashion Week! It's come on us so quickly but it's also so exciting, I checked the tickets and the Ravensbourne show has sold out, which is brilliant.

I also wanted to talk about some of the GFW schedulue and things which are happening with GFW! Firstly, there's going to be a pop up shop for students who want to sell work, students have been offered the chance to be a part of this. I think this is a brilliant idea to, it gives the students a really nice way to get their names out there and be promoted! Hopefully some Ravensbourne students will be in there!

The tickets for the shows are selling out fast and the tickets for talks are all fully booked so it should be an amazing event and time for fashion! Good luck to anyone showing and hope people who're attending are impressed!

Long White Cloud//Oyster

As part of my fashion stlying for the media individual brief I have to film a 20-30 second video all to promote the magazine aspects of the fashion magazine i'm making for a different brief. Moving image is somewhere I think I really struggle with concepts and ideas and a medium I'd love to improve in.

I've done some film work for my moving image brief last term and I thought it might be clever to see what was out and released in terms of video content. I found this video filmed by Luke Bryne named Long White Cloud and fell in love with it. The music, editing and colours all of it, link/video below

So I really wanted to start thinking about usin this blog as another way to express ideas and thoughts. Not only whats happening in and out of the fashion world but also a personal diary of where my thoughts and ideas are heading with uni work.

So firstly I love this video I think the colours used when editing and the music just fit so perfectly onto each other. The way its edited to be double exposed almost is something I've played around with before and again loved its just a reall interesting way to work in my opinion, I love the comparison of the two different layers, one being background and one being people and subjects.
I think theres deffinitely something really effortlessly cool about this video and the music and models really do help add to that. They seem less fussed about the video almost awkward about being on screen for close to 4-5 seconds.

Promotion//Illustration

I thought as well as uploading my thoughts on fashion work I'd upload some work that I've done for uni as well. Here are some illustrations I drew and edited for a twelve page zine based on the 7P's of Promotion in reference to Kotler's theories.

The task was basically to illustrate 7 P's: Packaging, Place, Promotion, Product, Price, Positioning and People. We had to put both the word and a definition to help us remember their releveance, we also had to use an illustrator from a list and take some inspiration from their work.

For my illustrator I chose Gary Fernadez, mainly because his work stood out most of all of the illustrators we had to chose from and he was more interesting than others. I also really wanted to try something new with regards to a drawing style but personally I think it worked really well and achieved what I wanted. I feel like my zine really reflects my personal style of working and that's what I wanted.
